Rocco Black Friday Sale: Essential Minifridge Under $1,000 and Classic Restock
Rocco has launched its 2026 Black Friday promotion, featuring significant discounts on its smart designer minifridges. The sale introduces the new Essential model for under $1,000 and restocks limited-edition colors of the Classic model at record-low prices, while highlighting ongoing reliability issues with the brand's smart inventory system.
Rocco has initiated its most significant sales event of 2026 on Black Friday, offering substantial discounts on its line of smart designer minifridges. The promotion highlights the newly released Rocco Essential, which is available for under $1,000, alongside the original Classic model, which is discounted to $1,495—a price point described as the lowest the unit has ever reached.
The sale also marks the return of two specific colorways for the Classic model: Icy Blue and Royal Blue. Rocco stated that these colors are rare and will not be restocked after this year, following their rapid sell-out during a similar period last year. The promotion applies to the Classic in Beige, White, Royal Blue, and Icy Blue finishes.
The Essential model, which launched in August and began shipping in September, represents a design shift for the brand. Moving away from the vintage-inspired aesthetic of the Classic, the Essential features a sleek, minimalist profile with rounded edges and a tinted dark glass door that spans the entire front. It is available in Cream, Sage, and Graphite, all of which are discounted during the sale. Buyers can also opt to swap the standard color-matched metal handle for a midcentury-inspired oak version for an additional $95.
Internally, the Essential differs from its predecessor by utilizing smooth-glide drawers lined with rubbery material and grip strips, replacing the Classic’s wire racks. This design is intended to accommodate oddly shaped beverages and prevent cans from shifting when the door opens. The unit has a capacity of 77 cans and features a single temperature zone that can reach 34 degrees Fahrenheit, compared to the Classic’s 37-degree minimum.
The original Classic model retains its two-zone temperature control system, allowing for separate storage of red and white wines or extra-crisp beverages. It includes five full-sized racks and one half-rack, providing space for 88 cans or 27 bottles of wine. The Classic’s thick steel body is designed to refract potentially damaging light through its fluted glass door, and it comes with a color-matched metal tray that allows the unit to function as a bar cart. Rocco backs the Classic with a 10-year warranty.
Both models feature Rocco’s smart sight system, which allows users to monitor contents via a smartphone app. However, the technology has drawn criticism for reliability issues. Reports indicate the system can display outdated images of consumed beverages, such as Dr. Pepper and Stella Artois bottles from previous months, rather than reflecting current inventory. This bug affects both the Essential and Classic models.
While the Essential offers modern aesthetics and improved internal organization, the Classic remains a top-tier beverage cooler for those prioritizing capacity and warranty coverage. The limited availability of the Icy Blue and Royal Blue Classic models has prompted recommendations to purchase quickly, given their historical tendency to sell out immediately upon release.
